Kyle Benjamin Soars to Second-Place ARCA Finish at Mobile

Mar 24, 2014

IRVINGTON, Ala. (March 24, 2014) - Kyle Benjamin's first race with the No. 17 Roulo Bros. Racing team nearly ended with a win. Benjamin, who is already the youngest winner in ARCA Series history, continued his stellar track record in ARCA, notching a second-place finish Saturday afternoon at Mobile International Speedway.

After qualifying 10th, the 16-year-old Roush Fenway Racing development driver utilized 11 start/restart opportunities to pounce on track position. Aided by strong pit stops from his Roulo Bros. Racing crew, Benjamin was able to make gains on the close-quarters half-mile track without relying heavily on bump-and-run tactics.

Ironically, he also finished second in 2013 at Mobile, in what was his debut race in the ARCA Series. Benjamin has now accumulated five top-five finishes, which include two wins, in nine career ARCA starts.

"It was a really cool day for us. I thought the pit crew did a nice job and Gary (Roulo, crew chief) freed up the handling for me just enough. It was my first time tackling double-file restarts in ARCA today and I felt we were able to take advantage of them as best as we possibly could."
